The Preemie Growth Project

Sharing Vital Information About Nutritional Issues for Premature Babies & Special Needs Children

Teens and Adults

We have no data for teens and/or adults; the feasibility study was run with children through age twelve years.

With that being said, if you choose to try this, please be aware that children generally saw improvements within six to eight weeks, and the recommended bolus dosing was one-and-a-half times an adult dosing.

If a teenager or adult decides to try, it may help to adjust the bolus dosing to TWICE an adult dose of whatever brand of liquid trace minerals you choose.

Again, we have no data, but anecdotally, there are several reports of improvement in symptoms of hyperspasticity and sensory processing issues for teenagers and at least two young adults in their twenties.  NOTE: These are anecdotal, which means they are NOT DATA.

In a perfect world, a formal study would occur, but for reasons discussed elsewhere, that hasn’t happened yet. If you decide to try it, please let us know. If you blog the experience (successful or not), we can put it on our page.

Good luck!
